Classical Works Vol. 2 (2018)

My second collection of classical works, Volume 2 features a 3 movement piece based on Auschwitz concentration camp as it’s major work. I was inspired to write this after visiting Poland and seeing first hand what remains of the Auschwitz site. In addition to this, there’s more piano moods, which were once again featured in a short film for my friend’s university final project.

‘Summer Dusk’ from this album features a new combination of instruments, being written for trumpet and harp and conjuring feelings of a summer’s evening. I added another String Quartet and organ Fugue to my list of classical compositions, building on my previous works.

For the album artwork I enlisted the help of a friend; Asher Richardson-Smith who produced this portrait of me, and cemented the album cover style of my classical works series, as portraits of me by my closest friends and in the next edition, family. It’s interesting to see portraits of me in many different styles by artists whose styles I know well.
